Received Froyo...Should I uninstall manual update?

I just received a message saying I was sent the 2.2 software. I had previously manually installed the downloaded Froyo. Is there any point to uninstall the manual and then reinstall the Verizon update?

From what I read, there were more problems among those who manually updated, that's why I waited for the OTA.
I would uninstall the manual update but that's just me.
