I love the look and feel of the Essential Phone. Yes the camera needs work and the screen responsiveness needs a little improvement of which I think software updates can help in both areas. I haven't had any issues with WiFi nor cellular, note I'm on the T-MOBILE network. The speaker is loud and good enough for me as I don't really use my phone to play music. I do hope more apps are updated to take advantage of the bezel-less top of the phone.

It isYou are correct, if the Pixel XL 2 is bezel-less then I'll be getting one also
I am.debating switching to TMobile. How does it compare to your last phone on TMo
Chuck, what happens if you go into Developer Options and change the setting called Cellular Data always active?
I don't have my phone yet but I'm curious to see if that would fix your issue with WiFi/LTE
Definitely worth picking up a prepaid SIM and testing out their network for a bit before switching. I'm on a grandfathered unlimited business plan from the Omnipoint / Voicestream days and have no plans of switching away from T-Mobile. They're improving coverage yearly, especially with the upcoming 600MHz spectrum purchase. Downside is 600MHz isn't supported in phones yet.I am.debating switching to TMobile. Chuck - from what I have read so far, the Essential has a - let's call it - "not very good" camera.
Your thoughts thus far?

How is the notification light on this phone?
It's small, but I like it.
Agreed. It's still pretty good though. It's easier to see the PH-1's notification LED than the KEYone, which (ironically) used to be a BlackBerry hallmark feature. That only bad thing about it is you can't see it from every angle
Let me know how you got WiFi calling to work, haven't been able to get mine to.Just received mine this morning after ordering on the 29th. The build quality is without compare just as everyone has noted. No light bleed or any build quality issues at all with mine, fit and finish is perfect. I haven't had any app issues and everything has been very smooth so far. This is the first phone where I haven't felt the need to use developer settings to speed up the animations!
I do agree the touch sensitivity is a little lower than some other phones, but this is likely just a bit of "finger pressure re-training" for me. I actually like that it is not as sensitive as my S8.
Also, it is working flawlessly with ATT so far. Just swapped in my S8 sim. HD voice on LTE is working fine and it appears that wifi calling is working as well, but need to do another test on that to be sure.
Well, yesterday i put it in airplane mode and connected to wifi. Then tried to place a call and it went through. Today I tried the same thing and it didn't work....weird.
