Received the Essential Phone ask your questions

Rcvd my Essential yesterday (From Best Buy) and I didn't see WiFi calling in the Settings/Network menu but it was in the phone Settings. I am also on T-Mobile - thank you.
 
Here is the deal it had a defect in the earpiece and that kind of sealed it for me. That and the fact that I went back to my Pixel XL and everything was better, except the size of the phone per screen ratio(smooth, no lock ups, and fast responsive camera with high quality photos). Do not get me wrong, I am rooting for Essential but now the $850 I spent on the Essential + Camera + warranty will come back to me. I will use Googles trade in program and trade in my Pixel XL for $400 and only owe $549 on the new Pixel 2 XL 128GB version. I will have to buy a case so take out another $50 and $100 for the Pixel extended warranty and it feels like I am $150 dollars ahead.

Voodoo math I know....anyhow that is my game plan for now. I have only sent three phones back and I go through a lot of phones. Seems like it always the ones I am excited about and get delayed.

Lastly, I am looking forward to how Andy and team shake up mobile with the Essential ph-1 2.

I'll take the blame there since I'm responsible for pointing that out to you. lol :D Had it not been for that defect, I'd have kept mine and stuck it out.

Same here. I'd like to see them survive just because so many are trying to predict their failure. I might get another PH-1 before the end of the year but will get a PH-1 v2 for sure if the specs are there and the company finds the "whatever it takes" VP of customer care that they desperately need.
 
I am really on the fence on this one. I too have had a few problems with mine that have been really aggravating. Not having any touch screen capabilities when an alarm is going off first thing in the morning was no good...

Now I have a claim going with Asurian and hope the new unit will be better. I also got an email last night from Essential telling me to do a limited warranty exchange. They have no idea what is going on
