Howdy!

So I rec'ed a K1 for Christmas from my in-laws. I like the size better than my '13 Nexus 7, but I do have a few questions about some issues I've noticed.

First, when I plug in headphones there is a popping noise occasionally when I listen to music. I do not hear the popping noises when I use the device speakers, and the popping noise is heard on several different pair of headphones. Is this a defect? Should I think about getting it replaced?

Second, are the power buttons mushy on all the tablets, or just mine?

Third, the unlocking issue... I've read that if you unlock the tablet then your warranty is void, unless it isn't, but nVidia doesn't really make it very clear. If I unlock the tablet now and decided that the headphone issue mentioned above is a dealbreaker for me, will the warranty be voided? For the record, the tablet was purchased from Amazon.

Thanks for your time!

Haven't used the headphone jack so I can't comment on that.
The buttons are mushy on all the k1 takers.
Unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty of most manufacturers. I don't specifically know about nvidia. I would err on the side of caution and hold off in case you want to return it.

I got one for Xmas as well. Mushy power button, haven't tried any headphones yet. What I really miss is knock on feature I'm used to with my g4!

Well, after two factory resets, the headphone issue seems to have gone away... for now. I'll keep listening to make sure it doesn't come back.

WiFi seems flaky, but that seems to be a software issue. Wonder how long it will take nVidia to get the updated .01 release out to the tablets, if ever? Never owned an nVidia tablet, so I don't know how well they keep up with updates. Kinda miss my N7 in that regard.

This is my first nvidia device too but everything I've read indicates they have a good track record with updates.
