Receiving double texts

Has anyone had a problem with receiving double texts on their Note II Verizon phone. I have been receiving doubles from my wife and daughter who both have Iphones. but today I received one from a person with an S3. We had thought that it may have been an Iphone thing, but now it might just be my noteII. Any thoughts? thank you for your time. :-!

Yeah I have the same thing happen to me also..thought it might be a handcent problem since that's what I'm using for texting.

I haven't had this happen to me yet. I've used both the stock messaging app and Handcent.

Are the double texts in the same texting program or are you getting one from the stock messaging app and one from another app? I was having this happen when I started with ChompSMS before I disabled notifications from the stock one and used Chomp exclusively. Never had doubles from the same program, but I've only had my phone a little over a week so far.

I am using the stock messaging app. I've never used anything else. Thought maybe it was an Iphone thing until it happened when someone used a Samsung Galaxy S3. So I kind of think it might be an android thing. The reason I say this is because it happened before when I've had a couple of other android pones and my wife had an Iphone. But now I am wondering,Android!!!!

Are you using a network extender when this happens? Sometimes texts can get caught in those things

It happens to me every so once in a while. Might be a Verizon thing.

It seems this problem has to do with Verizon networking, Refreshing MTAS and Resetting text feature.

Never had this issue with verizon. I just switched to chomp sms and it basically rooted out my stock msging without me doing a thing. On my old appalachian wireless razr maxx I had this issue a few times. Usually while using handcent. I dont believe this is a verizon issue.
