Receiving Emails Late

Has anybody else had this problem? This morning I was holding my phone when all of a sudden I got 7 emails some of which were dated that they were sent yesterday at 5pm. I have my phone on performance mode and have gmail sync on, I also have background data on. Is there anything else I can do so this problem won't happen?

Ive had this happen on a few occasions as well. I usually just chalk it up to mail server issues.

This has also happened to me in areas where coverage may go in and out.

It happens to me occasionally. One thing I tell clients and users; email is not instant and it's not guaranteed. If you need to contact someone now, use the phone.

I have had the problem also but it is not a server issue as suggested by mbentley3 . The reason I say that is that when I have had the problem it occurred on my Bionic but my PC received the email on the proper schedule. I use to have a Thunderbolt and also saw the issue so I am thinking it is an Android issue. In my case if I went to check for new email it always got any old mail that was supposed to be delivered.

I never receive my emails on time on my bionic. I've pretty much given up on it at this point. I know it's not a server issue because they go through to my nook without issue.
