Receiving picture messages

When I recieve a picture message it always comes in slideshow format...... can this be changed?
If not is there anyway to set the time frame that the picture stays in the screen? I hate getting pictures via mms cause i can only look at them in 4 second intervals.

That's one of the many reasons I switched to Handcent - you can bring up pictures in the photo viewer instead of having to deal with the slide show. There may be a solution to change the slideshow in the built in app, but I haven't found it.

Haha I'm sorry, but I still have'nt jumped on the handset bandwagon....something about it I still don't like lol.....If anyone still has a solution to this problem please put it here

I just went back to handcent I am usually a fan of stock apps but I gave a brand new baby and my wife sends me pictures of her all the time when I'm at work and i like to d see them for more than for seconds at a time. How is the slide show feature even practical any way?

You can pause the pictures in the slideshow. During the slide, just hit the 'Menu' button and hit 'Pause'

Edit: Not the Menu button, the main 'Touchpad' button on the bottom

I hit the track pad and a menu pops up i hit pause and the picture disappears.

Wow, that's weird. One of those things I guess, it never happens to me. I guess Handcent may be the answer then
