Recent Apps Button Issue

Soon after dropping my Galaxy s6 in the sink (fully submerged in water) I noticed the recent apps button would turn itself on and off constantly. It was twitching and spasming. It kept opening and closing recent apps/split screen. I don't know if someone has had this problem before, but if you know how to fix it or just turn the recent apps button off entirely, please tell me. Thanks!
