recent apps, favorites, toolbox

Yesterday I inadvertently swiped from the black area on the lower right corner of my note 3 towards the center of the screen. The home screen corner "peeled back" and showed the recently used apps "underneath" the peeled back home screen. Another swipe peeled that back and showed favorite apps and another showed "toolbox". I messed with it for a little while and thought it was pretty cool. Today I have been unable to use this feature. Any one know anything about this setting? I'm running stock 5.0
