Reception icon (status bar)

Is the reception icon the only thing that can't be changed in the status bar? I have noticed that all of the froyo roms have the stock reception icon. None of the icons in the packs from UOT apply to that one either. Just curious. Don't know unless you SEARCH then ASK.

It's inside system/framework/framework-res.apk

Yes, it can be changed out manually, but odds are it will take you a while as messing around in there has a tendency to break things.

Thank you for the explanation. I figured it was in the framework-res.apk but don't understand why it is the only icon that doesn't change when you flash a cooked one from UOT Kitchen.

They probably didn't feel a need to change it.

I was speaking in terms of every rom out there that isn't a 2.3 and also when I make a status bar icon change in UOT Kitchen. It's the only icon that doesn't change which I found to be weird. Guess this isn't changable.

Oh, it can be changed.
It just may just have to be done manually.

The icons you are looking for are in lge-res.apk in the framework folder called icon_rssi_bars(0-6).pro

Odd, the symbols are also in framwork-res.apk/res/drawable-mdpi-v4
They look different though so it must not be using them.

Yeah the ones in the framework are 4 bars, but the phone shows 6 bars.
