Recommend me a phone

Re: Recomend me a phone

I see what you're saying! Any of the phones you're looking at would be great options, in my opinion! As far as the V30 feeling plastic-y or not premium - I've held it but it was in a case; however, the back is glass and so I've heard it feels really good in the hand if one goes the "without a case" route.

As far as a wide angle camera lens or feature is concerned, I'm pretty sure the V30 has it but I don't think it's the only one that does. The Pixel 2 is supposed to have a great camera and video experience - I've seen my friend capture videos on his Pixel 2 XL and they're really good. However, the V30 is known for its media/video/camera experience so if you're really invested in those types of features (and if you want a headphone jack), I'd consider the V30.

Think iv narrowed it down a little to the s9 / v30 or p20 pro pixel is basicly androids iphone out of the pixel and iphone id buy the iphone die to it being more familiar to me but there both overpriced the xz2 seems to get a lot of negativ shouts too

Lg v30 seems a good phone but do they get let down by updates and general support ?

P20 pro is it mostly hype atm ? Basicly just a good camara ?

S9 seems the safe choice im not a masiv fan of the look but its hard to ignor the reviews and all round performer i just didnt want to be one of those who was samsung or iphone as everyone is in that category i know

Re: Recomend me a phone

Two votes for p20 now and two for th pixel 2 p20 seems the better choice out of those being cheaper option and newer are the huawei’s supported well ?
I have Mate 9 and the support is kinda slow but steady. For example, I think the Note 8 just got the Oreo update. We've had it since late last year now.

Re: Recomend me a phone

Yeah honestly... That's the phone to get right now...the P20 Pro I mean.

Thankyou looking like it could be this option cant beleave not many votes for the s9 not that i like the desighn but the way people rave p20 looks like a p20 or lg it looks like both though seem to have there problems with support and updates anyone shed any light on this ?

Well for one thing, the S9 is an incremental update to the S8. Personally it would be fine if you just got the S8 instead. I'm saying this as an S9 owner. I skipped the S8 though. The S9 has a bit more performance and arguably better performing camera, but getting the S8 at this point is actually a good deal since it's a lot cheaper than any of your choices I think. The Pixel 2 is right up the best pure Android phone available at the moment, and v30 and P20 are the best of their available brands. In fact, depending on how long you'll be keeping your phone, even the S7, or V20 would be great buys if you plan on keeping them for just a year since they'll all be running Oreo for this year and you'll be buying a new one anyway next year.

Well the S8 would still give you Oreo and P. So if you're looking at possible cost issues on taking a phone, if you'll choose Samsung, go S8 unless the low light pictures, fingerprint placement and stereo speakers are a big deal.

The P20 however may be the best bang for buck because I think it's cheaper than the S9+ but gives you more cameras for the effects you can do with those hardware. The V30 is great, but unless you're after the DAC, I feel that for you the better option would be either the S9+ or the P20. The Pixel is great, but to me it really looks over priced unless you value pure Android that high.

LG does update their phones - it's just that sometimes, those updates are a little slow to come by. I haven't owned an LG phone since the G3 (which got a couple of major updates in its time); so I can't give any personal accounts of how quickly current LG phones are getting updates.

I'd say the P20 is a good all-around device; not just as far as the camera is concerned.

Re: Recomend me a phone

I never thought I'd say this but I'd like a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. That thing is absolutely gorgeous, and now has an imprived camera which was one of the downside of the Mi Mix 2. I'm perfectly happy with one lens as long as it performs great. I think apart from the essential phone this is one of the most beautiful phones out there.(I don't like the notch). Stock android is great, I recommend it all the time but there's something weirdly satisfying about a tonne of customization options.

Re: Recomend me a phone

V30 all the way! You get a phone that is VERY similar to the Pixel 2 XL, BUT has several key advantages. The V30 has an SD slot, a headphone jack, AND a quad DAK, that makes music sound incredible. On the downside it's not as quick to update to patches and new Android versions as the Pixel line. Still worth it!

Re: Recomend me a phone

Whatever I get next, it will NOT have a thin screen, NOR a bent edge reflecting screen, but it will have a good battery and storage. I see no valid reason for a notch.

I've had a mate 9 since they came out. Mine has no Oreo update option.

I don't think such a thing exists. The Pixel 3 will have a notch, and Samsung is likely the only one who won't notch and that's only because of the insane number of sensors they put there. They already put dual front cameras on the A8 2018, and I'm expecting that on the Note 9 too. But they have the edge screen you don't want. And everybody else is doing the thin screen too. It's more of a pick your poison at this point. The only thing going for you is the edge screen is getting less and less curved each year and the notch can be artificially hidden.

I absolutely love my V30 and with the V30 Thin Q coming out you might be able to find some deals.

My V30 has been updated to 8.0 with the Thin Q software as well

Not for all of us! T-Mobile blows! At least at getting OS updates out!
