You do need a third party app, and I just wanted to throw out that some states (PA is one of them) make it illegal to record a phone call without notifying the other party that they are being recorded

hey there pizza i checked here in tenn once and the phone comp advised me that as long as one person was told then it was legal to record .. also think about it,, if one has a hoime phone they usuall have an answering machine... I think everyone knows either by word of mouth or otherwise that all calls are recorded by someone and if not a peon,, then by uncle sam himself. and the govt has to live by the same laws that they impose upon us, the American Citizen..

Here in PA we were told that we had to tell the other person that they were being recorded or face criminal penalties. Seriously. This was over a custody thing not something like a drug deal....

That is why I threw out "some states" in the OP of mine. I realize that different states react differently to this kind of thing.

A fun thing to do is when a telemarketer calls, tell him you are recording him, they choke and bail so fast it is funny...lol

If memory serves me right, here in Ohio, that you only need to have one party with knowledge of the recording, and if that's me, then that's the one party. Funny how people around me know that I'm always tinkering with ways to show them how their privacy can be invaded, so they are careful to say things around me for fear that I might mangle it in a mashup and send it to them in a video or audio file. Honestly though, so many of them didn't realize that companies can turn on their web cam and audio recording while their working, or how someone with one of these phones can broadcast EVERYTHING to the web and all by just walking around and using 4G.

Being a walking social experiment is one thing, but being a law suit waitng to happen is another. Check your local laws about recording video that has embedded auido, and audio by itself. It's the audio that gets you in trouble more times than not.

i think its best that anyone should check their states laws on recordings...
i've read where some drug dealers walked after hearing in courts because their cell calls were thought to be private by the calling people and not meant for any others usage. so laws very and each state does have its own way.. in Tenn i first installed my answering machine and was tokld to call ph company,, once called they said i was legal to record msgs as people knew it was an answering machine.. its all a mess...
