Recording an Android without rooting steps

I know that is now possible on Android 4.4 natively, but...

I own an Android 4.3 (NOTE 3 NEO) and I would like to have a better presentation of my products. The idea of recording the screen (without a video camera) sounds great, but I have not found any efficient solution so far...

Most of them, such as Team Viewer, will transmit the screen over WiFi to the pc, but it is very laggy. Some others will just take pictures, but it is not that great.

How people used to post high quality videos on youtube about apps prior the Android 4.4?

Most people used to do it via HDMI. You record the video output through HDMI and presto! Or they had one of those official dev kits which actually let you mimic the entire screen on a computer for tutorials.

Thanks again, it now makes sense....I completely forgot about those mini HMDI ports commonly found on SONY devices...
