update is, it does work. after running through the steps a few times, eventually something clicks and it works. go figure. there is only one rom that I know of, I'm getting ready to look for some more, so if you know of any please let me know. it's at breakneckmod.co.cc and doesn't seem to change much except the home app and adds some music/video apps, removes bing (although using the search button still routes a search through VZWAP which returns bing results)
