Red screen

Earlier today I took my nexus 4 out of my pocket, not only was it blazing hot but the screen was red.

I uninstalled a few of my most recent applications and rebooted it. When it powered on again, still the same.

Here is what it looks like now.



Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could do?

I know that there apps that can adjust the screen tone. Like screen adjuster.
are you using anything like that? Do you have anything like that installed?

I have nothing like that installed

Would it be wise to try a factory reset?

I would try a reset, and if that doesn't fix the problem, I would suspect a bad display driver or display. RMA time.

A reset fixed the problem!

I know this is old, but this is the top google result for this issue. No need for a reset. The clue was in your first notification bar icon. Lux went into astronomer mode (as did my phone last night for some reason.) Just go into Lux and turn off astronomer mode, all is solved.

Yes. You can toggle it on and off by pressing the 3 stars button on the notification bar button.
