Reflashing Stock Problem?

So I put Jelly Bean on my phone and ended up messing something up, so I had to revert back to stock. When I did this, the last step had 3 lines that said "Archive does not contain". I have attached an image so you can see. This is the image from Google's own servers. Is it missing something or is it supposed to be like that? It finished the install fine, but still made me wonder. Any input would be appreciated!

I am not able to boot into stock recovery either. Any help would really be appreciated.

The sigs not being contained when flashing stock is normal. And for stock recovery you are likely booting it fine but just not sure, lol. What are you seeing and why are you trying to boot stock recovery in any case? Just checking :)

When trying to boot stock recovery I see an Android on its back with a red exclamation point over it.

I'm trying to get the IMM76Q update put on my phone. For some reason after going back to stock, I am unable to put the jellybean update I previously had back on. I think it requires the Q update and I'm on K.

The red exclamation thinger = no custom recovery. Fastboot flash or boot a custom recovery. Check the OTA thread that we have in the general section; lot of good stuff there :).

Would I just fastboot flash the zip file in Terminal? I use a Mac.

Right now when I do the adb push it can't find the device. Wanted to let you know that too.

Also, what is considered stock recovery? Just the fast boot flash? I'm very new to this. Sorry to be ignorant.

You'll need a custom recovery to do it. Generally, you fastboot images--".img" files--while you "flash" or install zips in recovery.

The general way to do it (and this is very, very generalized):

  1. Ensure that the fastboot executable (.exe) is installed on your Windows machine and that fastboot drivers are working (i.e. you went through the steps in Wug's).
  2. Download a custom recovery--either Clockworkmod (CWM) or Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP). This will down as a ".img" file. Place the file in the same folder that has the fastboot.exe file (which should be some folder for the Wug's kit, maybe data?).
  3. Then, open that folder, open the terminal/command prompt from that folder, and you have two options--flashing the recovery or booting the recovery. Note that there's a file on your /system partition that will cause you to automatically revert back to the stock recovery once you reboot your device. CWM has an option to automatically remove this, TWRP does not (to the best of my knowledge). If you don't feel like doing this process twice, then choose CWM for the time being. If you adb push a rom, the rom will not have this pesky file so you won't have to worry about this reversion.
  4. Connect your phone to the computer and put it into the bootloader/fastboot mode (power down, hold all volume buttons and power simultaneously).
  5. To flash (install) the recovery, which I recommend, type the following into the command prompt/terminal (first type "fastboot devices" to ensure your device is listed).
    Code:
    fastboot flash recovery [nameofrecovery].img
If you want to simply boot into recovery (which I don't recommend if you're flashing roms and such), simply type in
    Code:
    fastboot boot recovery [nameofrecovery].img
    (Notice the difference?)
  6. Once flashed, use the volume toggle to scroll to "Recovery Mode" (while still in fastboot/bootloader), then select that with power. From there you should have a file manager and be able to use adb commands to push files. Generally, adb push commands look like this:
    Code:
    adb push FILE.zip /sdcard/FILE.zip

So I have to actually be in recovery mode to use the adb push command?

I have done the cwm before and when I try to install either the Jellybean update I installed earlier or the IMM76Q, it gave me an error.

Can I actually install everything through terminal commands? I was doing the install from SD in cmw before.

That android on its back with the red exclamation point is the first screen of stock recovery. To move past it press both volume buttons together. But you can't do much of anything in stock recovery.

You'll want to be in recovery so everything is right there. Push it, flash it, be done with it.
