Regarding a Form at Radioshack

Out of curiousity I went back to the Radioshack where I preorder my phone in NYC, The rep tells me they just recieved a form today .Well on the form he asked me when do I want to come in (morning, afternoon ,etc.) will I be picking up my phone either on friday or saturday. I am guessing its a form to cover their butts or the activation process on June 4th. Has anyone come across this type of form at radioshack today???Do you know if thats why he asked me to fill it out??

Im not talking about the process we went through to preorder, I am talking about another form I filled out today?

I preordered at Radio Shack last week and I had to fill out this form as well. I also preordered at bestbuy (was farther away so i am going to just keep the $50 gift card) they have you fill out a similar form.

Not sure whether it is new or not. You didnt have to fill anything out to preorder originally?
 
at the time I preorder I just recieved my receipt, my giftcard, and was placed on a list of how many people who preordered other than that nothing else to my knowledge.
 
Thats strange i pre-ordered at Radio Shack and i didn't have to fill out any form just a had to sign a real long receipt and got my gift card and receipt then went on my way.
 
Try going back to the store I filled it out today because the rep said in his store they recieved a form. I would either call them or go back to the store and ask them about it especially if that store has forms.
 
The form is used to set the appointment time/ date and for a follow up call the week before the launch.
That's how we can keep track of the preorders once the inventory comes in. If you didn't fill out a form you should be ok, but I'd give the store a call to have them fill it out.
 
I guess it is to cover the preorder activations on June 4th and possibly knowing who is coming in (morning,afternoon, or evening) so it wont be too crazy on friday.

Exactly the form I filled out last week. Think it was just RS getting all the 'ducks in a row' about pick-up date/time, non-refundable gift card, how if you don't pick uo Fri/Sat they can release your EVO to someone else.
 
I had to fill out one of these form, and I picked afternoon. Since the clerk says they may get the phone on that day, and UPS doesn't deliver until noon time. But if they will be calling 1 week before launch day, I will probably change it to the morning.
 
Never had to fill out a form but I called the store and they remembered me...said I was good to go for a 10am pick up. Only thing that sucks is the employee origionally thought I could pick up the phone at The Shack closer to my house but found out I have to go to the one I placed the pre-order at. That means I've got to go to Springfield.... :p
 
I just called the RS I pre-ordered from and they filled out the form for me. I'll be there at 10 with bells on. :D
 
Hmmm... I asked when I pre-ordered mine and he said just come in any time I wanted on the 4th or 5th. I'll have to give them a call and see what's up now. Was going to work from home so I could pick it up early as possible.

UPDATE: I just called the store and they said I don't need an appointment to get it and that they'll have them when they open at 9:00am on the 4th. Of course the store I ordered it from is not one of the busiest locations around here. At least it's not too far from my house so I won't cry too much if I have to make two trips as long as it's the same day.

I called my Radioshack and I verified about a form, they informed me that there is no form. There database has who pre-ordered and just bring the receipt. But they did remind me that I have 48 hours to pick up the phone or will be forced to sell.

P.S. I am #1 at my store. I plan on being there when they open. I am using my secondary line for the upgrade, but am porting to another number. Do you guys think it is wise to let them do that in house or just go home and activate it myself?
 
^ I'm first as well and plan to be there shortly after they open. I would let them port the number if the associate seems capable. Good luck!
 
There is a form, its been there from day one of pre-ordering

The problem is getting people to follow the rules or training employees to do what they're suppose to.

That form simply just verifies appointment time, proof of verification of upgrade/credit check, and lets the customer know 100% its NON refundable.

Employee and customer BOTH sign it as a mini-contract for pre-order.

I've done about 10 of these my self, even ask the customer if they would like a copy of it. Its the little things that make customers repeat customers.

Now the world wont end if its not done, but really stores telling you there is no form are either misinformed or too lazy to do their jobs. (Its sad how often I see this, no pride in ones job anymore despite whatever it may be.)
 
I was first at my Shack (just last Friday). They hadn't heard of the EVO (??) and had to call someone to figure out what to do. I filled out the form and just wrote in 8a on Friday - I'll be there when the unlock the door. (I too am also pre-ordered at BB just in case RS drops the ball)

See, its things like this that just sicken me. Its absolutely plastered all over the place on our systems. News events all over the place. Etc.

Personally, I'd fire the manager at that store for not informing his employees of such a massive event item.

Glad they were able to help you out finding how to pre-order it.
 
Only thing I signed was a copy of the long reciept for the preorder/gift card. It mentions nothing about a time to pick it up. Just that they will hold it for "...two days following Sprint's official launch date."

When I walked into the store on the 17th, there was a stand up display right on the counter about preordering the phone. Was pretty obvious right there. I just pointed at it and said "me want".
