Regarding ringtones

I found a ringtone that I like and downloaded it to my phone and it works. All is well right?
When I downloaded it, it got placed in my music files, is there anyway to move it from there to another file and it still work? If so, what file do I move it to? I tried to make a new folder on my SD card and copy it over, but I cannot find it in my files to copy it.
