Reinstalling Android via computer?

I have a virus or some other malware that persists even after doing a full system wipe (factory reset.)

How can I SAFELY reinstall android 6.0.1 to my phone from my computer or some other source, without using the factory reset on the phone? In other words, can I just reinstall the OS with a USB cable connected to my computer? and is there ANY danger of bricking the phone?

Ok, so here's the deal. If you can get into the developer settings choose the OEM Unlock option and follow the on-screen instructions bto unlock your bootloader. This will VOID YOUR WARRANTY! Next up, look up "<phone model number> stock firmware". If you get links on XDA, follow the instructions they give you. In the case of a Samsung device, you will be using Odin to flash the ROM.
