Yeah the 18th is looking good, a friend of mine has a relative working for sprint and the person said if he wanted a nexus they could order it now or the EVO around the 15th.
Mitchell C.: We'll update the information and give you the exact date online but its not possible to give it right now due to business policies. I hope you understand.
Mitchell C.: I would like to be able to give you a date, but right now, the only information that we've got is that it'll be launched mid 2012.
Mitchell C.: Please wait.
Mitchell C.: HTC EVO 4G will be available exclusively from Sprint on June 4, 2010 in all Sprint retail channels, including Telesales, Sprint.com and national retail partners, RadioShack, Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
Mitchell C.: EVO is priced at $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate (taxes excluded) with a new line activation or eligible upgrade.
Mitchell C.: Pre-registration is available now at HTC EVO 4G LTE coming to Sprint on May 7.
Mitchell C.: I hope that answers our query, Mike.
You: What?!? Did you read what you copied me on?
You: That was the EVO 4G, not the EVO 4G LTE -- the year of that announcement is 2010!!!!
Mitchell C.: I'm so sorry, Mike.
Mitchell C.: I sincerely apologize for the mistake.
Your friend, or their relative is wrong. The GN is not available for employee lines until at least the 17th. No word has come down about the E4GLTE.Yeah the 18th is looking good, a friend of mine has a relative working for sprint and the person said if he wanted a nexus they could order it now or the EVO around the 15th.
Hate to burst the bubble, but the E4GLTE will not launch on the 18th. I would put my money on June 8 or 15.
Yep, I'm a Sprint employee.
Yep, I'm a Sprint employee.
Yep, I'm a Sprint employee.
Hmm, I would think if a Sprint employee knew about this, they would either know the actual release date or be guessing like the rest of us. Since your post is guessing at the date I wouldn't put too high a certainty on it.
Of course there is a definite possibility that nobody at Sprint knows for certain since maybe it's all tied to when their manufacturer actually delivers the devices.
I would hope that there will be an actual date come Monday at 8am but not holding my breath anymore.
I really hope this guy knew what he was talking about. Although, a friday is a strange release day for a phone from Sprint.
The original EVO 4G released on June 4th back in 2010 which was a Friday.
