Hi guys I'm coming from an S7 Edge and I used to set reminders all the time on my phone and would get an actual notification that popped up on my screen. Is there any way to do this with the pixel? I've used the assistant and asked it to remind me at a specific time and it only shows a card on the Google screen to the left. No sound or notification which defeats the purpose of a reminder. It also seems that location based reminders are completely broken as they don't do anything.

I set reminders which recur multiple times per week and I get a notification for them. I set them the same way you mentioned, but you can also Google 'set reminder' to do the same thing
You can use either the Google calendar or Keep. Both come installed on the phone. Keep is Google's notes app. It's pretty good and the widget is nice to have as well.
I see in Keep's settings it has reminder times and there 3 times for morning afternoon and evening. Is there anyway to get keep to remind me instantly at the time I have set?

You should have more options then that. And it will notify you instantly.

I did find that and did a test reminder and it worked. I also just setup a reminder through the google assistant to remind me of something at 2:30. We will see if that works now.
So it seems if I go into Keep and add a reminder there it will give a notification. But if I use the google assistant and ask it to remind to do something at a time it doesn't show up in keep and I don't get a reminder. I see it in the google cards all the way to the left though but no actual notification like if I do it manually in Keep.
Hmm maybe I will have to setup allo and see if that works better. I just don't see why it doesn't add reminders to keep like it does a shopping list. Makes no sense to me why that isn't working. My guess is it is a software issue and will hopefully be fixed in future updates.
It might be that all the alerts go through the allo text app. I don't use the cards or assistant much (only a couple of times through allo) so I can't say anything more than that. I've been meaning to set up the voice commands, so maybe I'll do so tonight and report back.

So I just tested this after getting home from work and I am getting an alert and a notification on my lock screen.
Did you set that reminder using the google assistant? Also do you have Allo activated?

I set it using assistant and no I don't have Allo. It says on the lockscreen "Google app"
Well I don't know if mine had said it on the lock screen or not. I just tried it again for a reminder for 6:30. What I should clarify is if I set it in the Keep app my phone vibrates or makes a sound and my Gear S2 even gives me a notification showing my reminder. When set through the assistant it almost seems like it is a silent reminder which is not what I am looking for. I am really wanting it to give me a sound or vibration and stay there so I actually get reminded and I know I can do it manually through Keep but it would be nice to be able to just tell the assistant to remind me at a time and have it actually remind me.

Yeah mine doesn't make any notification sound or even a notification still. All I get is the card on the google screen. I guess I will have to ask google support.
I am chatting with google now in the support section of the phone (this is really neat by the way). So we will see what they say.

I have never used it but I have chatted with them on the Google store site and they are great!
