Remote Access

Is the Thunderbolt able to remote access my PC? I know the new iPhone can access programs (music, files, etc) on your computer remotely, is there a program allows the Thunderbolt to do the same (SAFELY)?

In the past I've used PhoneMyPC but recently started using Splashtop since it allows you to stream audio to your device and it's only $2. Logmein Ignition is also available but it's about $30.
