Remove duplicate entries on "My calendar" under Google Calendar app?

Hi, I'm a recent convert from iOS to S9+. :-D

As Apple surely didn't make it easy to move my data to my new phone, I had to re-start the process several times, such that when I open the "Google Calendar" app, I see duplicate entries under "My Calendar" -- see screenshot below.

I would like to simply remove all of that. However, when I access Google Calendar through the website, I don't see all those duplicate entries. They seem to exist only on my phone.

I do not see those entries using the built-in "Calendar" app.

If I enable "My calendars" I also see the duplicates under the "Calendar" app.

How do I delete "My Calendar" under Google Calendar, along with all its content?

Just open the Calendar app in the app manager and clear data. When it resyncs it should load up exactly what you see on the Google Calendar web version

Hi SpookDroid, thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I was wrong when I made the post.


I do not see those entries using the built-in "Calendar" app.

If I enable "My calendars" I also see the duplicates under the "Calendar" app.

I tried to empty data of both apps, but the duplicates still appear. Do you have other ideas of what may be wrong and how to fix it?

Sounds like you have two separate calendars then: One in Google and one coming from either Samsung's cloud or saved locally to the phone.

If you open an appointment that you see as duplicate in the stock app, there should be a tiny calendar icon below the time/date information. What do you see for both entries? If you see different names there (or different colors), then that's the problem... two entries are being created. You can hide one from the Calendar display settings but if you really want to get rid of the duplicates, then we'd have to find where those are being stored.
