Remove greeting message from shelf view

Is there any way to remove the greeting message (also displaying weather info by default) from the shelf?
I can't figure out how to do it.

Go to shelf and next to weather long press a blank part of the screen then you will see your options

When I do that I get the option to change the message and wether to display weather or not, but no option to remove the whole thing. Can you confirm that it is not removable?

Delete the message just back space and leave it blank and turn off weather and it's all gone
Does it still occupy a blank space of the screen I'm not sure

Perhaps post a screenshot of the blank space so we can better assist you? Thank you! I understand about wanting a non-cluttered setup - I am the same way!

Blank space is not much to see haha.
If you remove the greeting message and turn off the weather in the "widget" that is on top of your shelf you will see that the top "row" for apps and/or widgets is occupied with blank space. Unless you know how to get rid of it of course.
It's a very minor problem though. I was mostly curious if there was a way to remove it that I have missed.
