i get significantly better speeds, but not what's being reported here by everyone. so your area could be a possibility.

The official update actually hasnt went out yet. So I think the speeds you guys are seeing is around the same because you dont have the update yet. Neither do I at this point. It shouldnt be lonk hopefully. Check your Settings>About Phone. And see what model number you have. From what I was told, it hasnt been released to the public yet.
I have Android version 2.2.2 System version 4.1.83 So it was not the official update yet? What was it then? It did boost my speed a bit... So does that mean ATT lying to us again by posting the official 1.4.83 update information on their site? Or it was another system patch but NOT the hsupa/hsdpa update?
Well there is no word anywhere on motorola atrix update page about 4.1.83 so that makes me think it is not the official one. (Not from motorola at all?) Im confused now... This is so wrong it should not be happening at all.... I've made a very serious mistake extending my contract with ATT... could have enjoyed verizon's LTE now LOL

I sideloaded it from xda forum.. got tired of waiting and wqnted to experiment just like the old days with my bold 9700 LOL but isnt it the one that many people got OTA? It is the same version right?
Just did the speed test with speakeasy.net 4.83 up and 0.39 down. Interesting I definetely wasnt getting down speeds like that before but the up speed is the same LOL

i was accepted into the beta. got the OTA notification a couple days ago.
the update definitely did something because my upload was about 5 times better and my download 3-4 times better.

Did you by anychance notice how unusualy hot phone gets after a minute or two of use after the update? It wasnt like this before at all.. i am going to reflash back to 57 and wait for official update...

nope... haven't noticed that yet. noticed it got a little warm after using gps & pandora for about an hour.

Did u restart you phone? It resarts after the update but you need to restart it again though...got the update an hour ago here in Northern NJ...my phone is slower...and hotter

Tried that and am getting roughly the same results with slower U/L speeds. i will try the other Atrix we have and see how it fairs tonight. I might sell this thing and get a S2 if this is how its going to work.
you might actually not be in the area where HSPA is fully implemented... i get different results when moving around Brooklyn NY. Havent traveled to Manhattan yet. will see how it is there.....
S2 does look like a best choice right now.. the only thing i am not so sure about is my phone's nvidia tegra processor.... but there arent many games on tegra zone right now...

i'm in northern jersey, rutherford specifically and like i stated before, although not what everyone else seems to be posting, it was significant compared to what i was getting before.
where in jersey you located?
Right now i am at work in East Hanover. When I go home and retest I will be in Wayne/Totowa/Paterson Area
I hope it works better at home because I am disappointed that I got an update that made my phone slower.

wow... i'd figure east hanover, you'd get great numbers. when i go by my son in Rockland County, i usually get awesome speeds, even before the update. are you getting the H+?
Duvi I am getting the H+ in the display.
just tried one last time before i left work. Getting 232 ping, .73 D/L and .07 U/L
when i get home i will test again and the other phone...then maybe think about making some phone calls to AT&T tomorrow and then evaluating where i am at.
