Is there any way to move/remove the Google Search (OK Google) widget from the top of the home screen? I don't use it and would like the space for something else.

Do you own a Nexus 5?Press it long and then drag it to the trash.
Press it long and then drag it to the trash.
I'd love to know if this is possible as well.
I NEVER use the search bar and it just adds clutter. Even if I cant put icons in it's place, I hate how it looks sitting there and it's annoying when I accidentally press it.
^ That is the only way to get rid of it. You also loose the "Okay Google" feature.

And the swipe up from home for Google Now. If those features are not desirable then going the launcher route is a great idea.

Depending on the launcher, it may be possible to set a swipe up gesture which opens Google Now. I believe most launchers allow the use of gestures.Didn't know that. Good to know!
