Well this was really annoying! I spent too much time trying to understand why I couldn't delete Gallery images linked to Picasa web easily. After a bit of searching, I found you need to log into Picasa web and delete the alumbs from there and then clear the Gallery from the S3.
The question I have is how did this happen in the first place? Only a couple of original pictures taken with the S3 were somehow uploaded to Picassa and I don't know how that happened! I gather that Picasa Web is part of Google + and that disabling "Sunc Picasa Web Albums" in the Sync settings prevents upload. So how did those first few images somehow automatically get loaded to Picasa?
