Removing my SD card before returning my G4 for repair

My LG G4 finally bit it and am sending it in to LG. Will my SD card become a corrupted mess if I just pull it out of my cold, dead phone before I send it in, since there is no way to "unmount" it first with no power?

I think with it powered off it should be fine

With the power turned off, the card is already unmounted, gracefully or otherwise.
