Repair-ability

I am fairly rough on my phones. Before purchasing this phone I have a few questions. Does anyone know the level of difficulty it will take to repair the touch screen digitizer? I always seem to crack them (even with an otterbox defender) and refuse sending it for a $200 repair. Also does the battery look to be replaceable. I know both are fairly easy to replace on the S4 and if it is too difficult in the G2 is will likely get the S4. I was able to replace a touch screen on my Incredible 2 and my wife's phone with ease so I do have some know-how. Thanks in advanced for any info.
