Just got my device repaired at uBreakiFix. They were professional and all. Repair seems to be a 9/10. I recommend them than any other place.

Why only 9/10? I wouldn't recommend anybody with less than 10/10 at that price.

Technically I could give it a 10/10 but nothing is like factory.
OK, I know what u mean but good to know they do good work. That's still less than the insurance deductible at Asurion & u got to keep your own phone instead of a beat refurb.

My phone came with the OEM clear case since day 1

To be honest, I wouldn't expect that case to protect against any type of drop. I have a thing TPU case as well, but the grip sorta compensates for accidental slips from out of my hand or off of any surface.

Ouch! IPhone screen is cheaper I guess

Hard to say. Here in Connecticut, an iPhone 5 screen replacement was costing around US$100 a year ago; I'm sure a 7 Plus screen would cost somewhat more.

Add in the exchange rate of about CAD$1.31 = US$1.00 and you are getting up there towards the CAD$200 mark.

...

As a matter of fact, Apple charges US$149 to replace a 7 Plus screen: https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/screen-damage

Actually most TPU cases DO provide some protection as long as they have a lip that extends above the screen, and most do. When the phone falls the lip cushions the blow and prevents the screen from even making contact with the surface in many cases. Better is an actual screen protector like an invisible shield or ghost amour, etc BUT a TPU case is good too!

Unfortunately mine landed on a small pebble face down from waist height onto concrete.
