Replace Samsung emojis with Hangouts

No idea, but I see only the stuff from Golfdriver's screenshot on my GS4, GS5 and Tab 3.

If I recall, SwiftKey will take the Emojis that are available in your device and doesn't replace or add its own Emoji by installing the keyboard. At least, that's what I got when Phil spoke with SwiftKey after the podcast on Friday.

This is correct. It uses the emoji found in system/fonts. If you have access to root, you can probably fix it pretty easily.

You aren't the first person I've heard of having a hard time with emoji on a Samsung device. Fixed a friends gs4 over the weekend where samsungs replaced emoji file in system was not showing up properly in anything after an ota kit kat update.

So only on the Android Central app ?

I haven't check on my laptop. But when I do I drink Negra Modelo... wait, whaaaaa!!!!??? 😲😲😲😂😂😂
I meant, I'll let you know how it looks on my laptop whenever I get to use it. 😆

Hi, I had this problem too after I got my new Samsung Galaxy s5. The emojis are just awful - you can't tell what most of them are and they don't look anything like the FB, Twitter, iOS or Android ones.... I am sure someone thought it was a good idea to change them, but if it isn't broken don't fix it! I have tried rooting my phone with just about every method I could find on-line, just to change the colour scheme and the emojis - crazy! But I have not been able to root it using any method. I finally managed to fix the colour scheme issue, and then I found a way to fix the emoji issue, without rooting it, by installing custom fonts and changing them in Display>Font>Change Font. You can download the fonts from Google Play - they seem to have done quite a few packs. I installed the standard iOS and Android ones... Your emojis then change in every app, apart from WhatsApp for some reason. Each of the packs is just called Emoji Font 1 or Emoji Font 2 etc. (2 is the standard Android emojis). There is a You Tube video entitled Change Android Emoji Characters without Root (it won't let me post the link). Hope that helps.
