I need to replace the battery in my Note 3. Neither Samsung nor Verizon offer an OEM replacement. I recently tried one from Cellular Outfitters but the best I can say is that it is very erratic at holding a charge.

Any suggestions?

Word of advice, spend for quality... bargain basement batteries tend to belong in a basement and not in a phone.

Samsung has a parts sales place in NY. They gave me the phone number. Official battery cost $50 though.

Amazon. They sale the Note 3 Battery at the most $10.

Thanks! Found the store and placed the order. Yes, it is $50, but as others in this thread have said, the cheap knock offs aren't worth it. Besides, I have no need to upgrade to a newer, more expensive phone (as the Verizon chat person insisted), no matter what the technological advances are.

Yeah, always be wary of an 'official' battery that is a fraction of the price you find from the OEM. Stickers are cheap.

Not True I always bought my OEM batteries from Amazon. Paid $7. I have had no issues at all. Only purchased OEM batteries. The thing about Amazon is that you can return the battery and get your money back if the seller lied about it being an OEM battery. Got a battery from off Amazon from Blackberry Storm all the way up to my Note 4. Again I had No issues. If you want to pay $50 for the same battery that is your perogative.

Well, I'm glad you've had good experiences, but the market is filled with counterfeit batteries. Those are often the same cells as the OEM, but they are in batches that failed OEM QA, so they are passed on to other buyers. They may work great, they may fail miserably.

Same is true for SD cards...

The Great thing about Amazon is if they are not good you can return for a full refund. You can test it out make sure that it works well. If it is not what the seller says you get your money back and a report is put out about the seller.

Counterfeit batteries can also explode, causing damage and bodily injury. While a genuine battery can also explode, Samsung will compensate you (even exceeding the cost of the phone new) should it explode due to a manufacturer defect. Good luck going after some no name third party battery manufacturer... They would probably fold up shop and open under different name the next day.

This is why I alway check the reviews of the seller. How long they have been on Amazon. No good reviews and, no history then no sale. The only issue I had over the years was buying a Samsung fast charger that came with a broken power block. Returned and my money was back in my account in a few days. That was the first and only time I did not do a background check. The new one I ordered from had great reviews and ratings. I bought a fast charging plug and car charger from them. No issues. It is all in doing your homework before you purchase. You can save money and Enjoy your what you purchased. I do not trust place like batteries inc. First more money and they have there own labels on their batteries. So you do not know if you are getting OEM or not.

Ever read those stories about phones exploding on airplanes or burning up somebody's bed? Those batteries worked fine until they didn't. I'll stick with genuine OEM even if I am a sucker.

I agree. I will alway put OEM batteries in my phone. Question: Would you guys us Zero Lemon extended batteries in your phones?

Zerolemon is H U G E. That is major reason I wouldn't. There is another good company that makes an extended battery that is smaller but I forget the name.... I will look and come back. I have one but do not use it. Phone heats up and restarts.

Anker 6400. Smaller than zerolemon. Mine might be OK but I don' t trust it. It does last forever. It's probably fine to use as long as you monitor it. I admit to bias and abnormal fear of li ion and li poly battery tech.

They have Mophie for the S7 edge. Have you ever tried it? How do they do if you have?

I still have a Note 3. I am considering a s7e or note 7 but no personal experience except playing in stores.... So much they look at me funny like here's that jerk coming who never actually buys anything.
