I hope best buy gets all colors and carriers on or before 21st. I preordered my replacement note 7 from them last Saturday so still waiting. Till then I powered down my old note 7.
 
The bulletin essentially says starting to arrive then, with a few qualifying words for getting one on the 21st: "you may be able to"
 
Yeah I have a feeling this won't go as smooth as we may think . Fingers crossed we all get it this week. I am traveling in 2 weeks so don't want to prolong this
 
A New day with my replacement Note 7

Well I have received my new replacement Note 7.

Firstly, no blue S sticker or little black dot to indicate it is safe. I called them and was verbally reassured that they would NEVER send a "replacement" phone that would be dangerous and that it was 100% tested. I said I want that in writing including my IMEI number on it, it's the least you can do for me. We'll see if I ever get that! Also they didn't send me an unlock code (ordered through Samsung Canada). They sent it up the chain and sent me an email the next day with an unlock code but no mention of the IMEI it's attached to, so I asked for clarification on that too!

I want to see some sort of means to tangibly check on my device or want them to do their "green charging battery icon" damn soon.

As for the return unit, I have to laugh, they expect me to make a 7hr+ drive (there and back) to drop off the phone in Edmonton. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. It has also been escalated, I am very curious as to what their solution will be that won't involve me driving.

Other than that, great phone. I don't use the fast charge because I charge overnight. So far love the device. I did a craptastic job of putting on a clear skinwrap on the back, bubble central, but it won't be my permanent cover, also put on an IQ shield front screen protector which is curing as I type, will evaluate it later, seems to curve nicely on the edges.

I wish everyone luck and happiness with their new devices. Oh! and I ordered a Silver one :)

Anyone else got any satisfaction with regards to knowing if their replacement device is TRULY safe?

There's that email that came from Sammy, but there's the AT&T commentary right there at that link.

They say:

On September 15, 2016, Samsung and the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a new Galaxy Note7 with a different battery that has been approved for customer use. AT&T will receive inventory of new Galaxy Note7s from Samsung no later than September 21, 2016.

I will be out of town(23-29th) for my birthday. Really need to exchange before the 30th. Verizon is very sneaky. The reps will try to find any reason not to help you if they know it won't result in a sale.

I was told at the AT&T no list, that it was first come first serve

Unfortunately the above link only applies to Note 7s bought in the US before September 15th.

However, according to Mobile Syrup, a Canadian focused Android source, the Canadian replacements have a green battery light not white when it is fully charged as they are using the Chinese ATL batteries to show the replacement phones are not the same ones that were sold before the recall.
