replacement screen,unresponsive

I just replaced the screen (LCD and digitizer are one piece) and now the puzzle pieces unlock screen is completely unresponsive even holding the lock button and trying to press power off does. It's as if the screen isn't registering I'm touching it at all. I thought maybe the new screen isn't calibrated bit have no idea how to fix it. Any advice would be appreciated
