I have reviewed some old threads and nothing came up specifically for the fascinate. I bought a replacement/spare battery and wall charger off Ebay from China. The battery will run the phone fine but, won't charge installed in the phone. The stock OEM battery charges in the phone just fine.

Anybody know what is the difference in these batteries? Is it a logic thing or are terminals missing?

Thanks,

Cheap Batteries

I bought one of those also, it came with a charger. I noticed the same thing that it wouldn't charge in my phone. It does charge in the charger it came w/fine.

I was looking at the accessories on the Samsung site and there is a new charger/battery available for $49.99 from Samsung or $29.95 online at cellularaccessory... I decided to go with the one of these. It's kind of a concern running a battery that won't charge in this kind of a high priced device, huh?!

It won't charge in the phone because your putting a Chinese battery into a Korean phone. All kidding aside though, try and see if you can return it to the vendor. It'll get kind of frustrating after a while if you have to keep pulling the battery out of the phone to charge it.

Actually there was a post here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/fas...-good-place-buy-spare-standard-batteries.html

But even so...I had the same thing happen and while it's not ideal...I only paid $10 for 2 batteries and a charger. I'll live with it. I just keep the spares charged up and pop them in the charger every couple of weeks to make sure they are still charged up (and they always seem to be).

I don't think I get as much time out of them as the original battery, but I can't imagine ever being in a position where I go through 3 batteries in 24 hours...and my life is such I'm definitely going to find myself in a place I can recharge within a 24 hour period.

Let me know if this battery charges in the phone please. It looks nice. Thanks.

That's funny.

That's funny! Listen, I took the phone with the Chinese battery installed and with around 12% of life left to my local US Cellular store. I complained of the battery not charging and the repair techs took the phone into the back. They checked it out and swapped my battery with a new OEM Samsung battery! Another fine example of great customer service from US Cellular!

Yeah, about that, I have the the new mesmerize which is a rebadged i500. Same thing as verizon fascinate. It's just there are a lot more viewers here than the new US Cellular mesmerize forum. Sorry.

hahaha... I figured that's what you meant but then I scrolled up to your first post and you said fascinate. I was about to buy a cheap battery and take my fascinate to the USC store too!

re: stedyone

will do, the battery won't be available for another week or so, but it should be a OEM battery since it's listed on the official Samsung website!

ok - so the battery never shipped from cellularaccessory, even though they charged my card a month ago! apparently it's still unavailable, grrr

Verizon has the unit now, charger w/extra battery for $39.99, I ordered it online had it the next business day, free shipping, works great!!
