Why is there such a long timer on reporting spam?

This forum requires that you wait 120 seconds between reporting posts. Please try again in 87 seconds.

Isn't that counter-productive? If it's pretty obvious that someone is spamming, wouldn't you prefer to KNOW about it? Or would you rather us lowly users not bother?

I agree it can be a little frustrating if there's a bunch of spam you want to report in a row. But keep in mind the reporting tool can potentially be abused as well, so it's a bit of a built-in deterrent to prevent that. Thanks for the spam-patrol effort!

Oh, and by the way, we have to wait the full 120 seconds as well, and we're grand exalted Ambassadors!
