Being able to start a thread without needing to register drags down the site, imo. During registration, the phone type and option to add os and version could be entered. Any discussion or questions would then be more precise, and require less back and forth in the ask a question forum.

Believe me, the Ambassadors and Mods have suggested this multiple times.:-\ I think the site admins want to make it easy for anyone to post a question to increase site traffic, and hopefully entice at least some of those people to register. In the meantime, we just have to keep working on our mind-reading abilities.

If the sites (all Mobile Nations' sites) weren't so popular, we could put up our own site. But having to put up with the drive-by posters is better than having 10 people sitting around waiting to answer the one question we get a day on a new site. (Trust me, I've been involved in starting new sites. They take a long time to get users. And I don't mean just months.)
