Restarted my phone and new apps show up?

I restarted my phone and apps like news republic, audible, empire, pad and solitaire shows up.

Model is US996. Anyone else?

Were they previously disabled? Did you receive a new update? The apps you listed are sometimes bundled with carrier phones. Most users usually disable or uninstall them. Sometimes new updates will reactivate or install them if they are disabled.

Nope not previously disabled. I've had Verizon running on this for a couple of days now. I don't know if the PRL updated or not. Kind of weird.

I was also thinking that these sound like preloaded apps on Android devices from carriers. Maybe with a small update it pushed those apps?

Try going to your application manager. Then tap the 3 dot menu button and select "show system." When the list repopulates, scroll through and look for "DT Ignite." If that is enabled, chances are that's your culprit. It's basically a pre-installed spam app that carriers can use to install more bloat on your phone after you purchased it. Disable DT Ignite and uninstall those other apps, and see if that takes care of things for you.

Weird! Same exact thing happened to me. I have the US996.

I'm suspecting it's happening through the LG Smart World App.

DT Ignite is there if you're on Verizon, and disabling it will prevent this from happening.

I'm going to try this. Disable auto update of LG Smart World Apps in their settings.

I had the same thing happen awhile ago. All of a sudden NFL mobile, Verizon, appeared on my phone. In that case I was happy because it was free, Verizon, and I don't live near my favorite teams. I think it happened on a reboot also or maybe when we got a new bug fix. Do ignite was the culprit.

Same thing here. I have Final Fantasy and Yelp installed now. I have no DT Ignite app. I'm on AT&T. Any advice?

Do you have an app called Mobile Services Manager? I think that's the name they gave to the DT Ignite on unlocked LG models.

I think it's because of LG Smart World automatic updates. The time when I used it, apps randomly showed up. Eversince I turned off automatic updates and hibernated the app, it never came back.
