I have a Tmobile app and it keeps telling me to at least restart my phone once a week for best device performance... How often do you all restart your HTC One or do hard resets (turning phone off then on)? Is it necessary to do this every week?

I don't restart my phone unless there is some unforseen issue going on. Restarting your phone clears up memory and closes running services that may only have been activated with certain apps that u opened. But over all no true need to restart.

I've gotten into the habit of restarting my phones daily. As I get in the car to go to work I let it reboot. That way I know that no apps will be hanging open throughout the day.
It had a bigger effect on past phones that were less powerful but I would say once a week is definitely a good practice.

I don't know when I started doing this but I probably restart it 1-2 a month.

I'd say I do it at least once a week, typically on heavy-use days. It probably has nothing to do with it, but always in the back of my mind is the idea that the battery may not discharge quite as fast if I do a restart often to kill any processes still running of which I'm unaware.

Cheers!

Is an old to grim when built in task killers weren't prevalent or efficient. webOS was notorious for stray data that was a resource hog.

I personally reboot every night before bed.

I do not reboot except when I want to flash something in recovery or if I am facing an issue that can only be redeemed by rebooting - it's definitely not a daily or even a weekly habit of mine, at least not on the HTC One whereas I used to do it daily on the S3.

I've had my HTC one two weeks and have flashed four different Roms. Needless to say I have been rebooting a lot. However I generally so weekly or twice weekly.

Whenever I notice it heating up, or when the Beats Audio symbol is up top with nothing playing...That's from the White Noise app...

I only restart when I see an abnormal drop in battery remaining, like 10%-15% in half an hour. It's easier than trying to find out what app or service is stuck in the background. I probably do that once every week-week and a half.

When i wake up every morning i turn it off while im brushing my teeth and putting in my contacts. Then power it on, take a shower then head to work.
I also restart if something glitches. GPS the other day was NOT syncing so i restarted and fixed it.
