Hi all. Sorry if this doesn't belong here, feel free to move it to the proper section. I'm new to the forum and in a hurry.

My droid DNA has been restarting constantly for the last day and a half. It loads to the HTC screen, then cuts out and restarts to that point again and again and again. Occasionally when plugged in it will go through the Droid swirly-robot thingy and then crash. Twice I have managed to get it to load to the home screen and function normally, but the moment it's unplugged it dies and begins this process again. The battery is fully charged. Occasionally when I press buttons it will just sit at the HTC screen indefinitely. I've tried the factory reset and recover options with the volume down/power button, but both times it simply restarted again. I just bought the phone a few days after Christmas so I hope I haven't broken anything yet.

I live somewhere where I probably won't be able to pop in to a verizon store for a good while so I'm hoping I can fix this on my own.... I already popped out the SIM card because it was mounted improperly and constantly dropping service, but just reseating it fixed the issue.

Does anyone have any idea? I also tried a quick search for "restarting" etc but certainly could have missed something. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Phone is kind of my connection to the real world as computers are business only most of the time.

You mentioned you got it after Christmas, so it worked for a couple weeks and now is seeing this behavior the past day or two. So the phone did work. when did you do the sim fix?
I'd pull it again and reseat if it was just before this started, also did you download any apps recently

You should try the factory reset again. It usually takes me a few tries. Hold the power button and volume down for 20 seconds, or, until you get the hboot option.

I'd suggest giving Verizon a call, and talking with their Tech Support.

While there are certainly very knowledgeable people on these boards, for a major issue with your DNA, even if you can't drive in to a Verizon office, you should be able to call them and talk with support.

Good luck!

Will keep trying. Now though it seems to be doing nothing even when I press the power button.

Re the sim fix: I did that like a week ago and it worked well in the intervening time. All I've really downloaded is the standard stuff, facebook twitter etc.

I'll try calling tech support too then. Pretty bummed. Thanks all.

Your battery is likely rundown, try connecting it to a charger for about 30 minutes. Then, try getting into the Hboot menu by holding both the power button and the volume down button for 20 seconds.

Did this. I'm pretty certain now that I have a serious battery issue that warrants replacing.... I got it to run through a factory reset, but the moment I unplug it it fizzles out. There's simply no way the battery is that low as I've been charging it constantly (orange light etc.) I had it plugged into my computer and it gave me some warning messages that the phone was using too much current, switch to an AC adapter, so I plugged it into the wall plug and will try again.

Take a look at your phone memory or your sd card. Also check if you have lots of application installed. Try uninstalling some of your not so important application specialy games. Then restart. Hopefully it would work as it did to me.
