Hello everyone, I recently moved from iOS to the Note 20 Ultra. I decided to pre-order the S21 Ultra. I know with Apple, it's always easy to restore from backup without having issues and that samsung has the same option. Does anyone have experience restoring data and have you had any bugs? And do you restore from the cloud or use Smart Switch?

I haven't had issues doing either. I prefer smart switch since it doesn't require having a backup, but it can take more time depending on the things you need to transfer. The thing I like that apple doesn't do is that it allows you to restore or transfer information at anytime not only during initial setup which is a one and done thing.

Thanks! That's really good to know. Samsung is a pain to set up from scratch lol so I'm glad we have this option.

Make a backup with your Note 20 with smart switch on the pc , soon this year Samsung cloud will go away and this the next best thing to it's cloud . And you can restore it anytime .

I've plugged my new and old phone together. It side by side wirelessly which was still fast. Have used restore in the past but not recently. You can copy from iphone too.

One app that is downloaded from web site had to be redone, seems there is a Google Store version that didn't work.

The S21 will have a later One UI 3.1 version.

I've never bothered backing up to my PC or Mac.

Apple finally got with it to do system updates first, then sync/restore which Samsung will do also. Because in past you couldn't restore if it was an older iOS version which it mostly likely was.

Local LAN is 1.2Gb or 100MB/sec, so that's not going to be a bottleneck.
