Restore or setup new?

I have always setup new when I get a new phone vs using the Samsung restore. I had a Note9 that I backed up. I used that restore on the S10+. It is behaving rather well....only issue is battery. It wasn't bad, but not near the crazy testimonials on this board. I got 4hrs SOT with 40% left. Again...not bad, but not the crazy numbers I have seen on here.

Opinions? Should I reset and rebuild? or leave well enough alone?

I did exact same as you from Note 9. No issues. If you are at 40% then that would be 6-7 hours total. That is not bad. It all depends on brightness and what doing while on.

You also need some time for the adaptive battery to learn useage then should improve. I was reading on XDA that 6-7 hours was good.

I set up new since most of my stuff is online and in the cloud anyway.

I always set up as new.

Same here. Dont know how well the restore feature works now a days but I member trying it a few generations back and nothing but headaches so I learned my lesson. Always setup up new and fresh.

As much as I flash between carrier or unlocked firmware, I can say back up works excellent for me

I always set up as new. I always have lots of apps I don't want reinstalled and you never know which settings I might not want anymore because the features are different so I start from scratch. I use Exchange so most of my stuff is stored on a server, and all my photos are auto stored in online storage. I just move over any documents or saved app restore files to my SD card.

I restore my photo's, contacts and the like from Google and Samsung. It works well as the apps are installed from new and not just copied from the backup of the old phone.

So far I am tracking to about 5 1/2 hours of SOT. Should I be ok with that? mostly social media, email, texting, espn....Feels like I should get a bit more. but not disappointed

I had some nightmares after porting stuff over on my S7E which was the best worst phone I ever hand. Compared to the Note7, the first phone I think I was in love with. So I've always been leery of moving stuff over since then as the few S7's I had seemed to get some bad things from the previous phones. This time I was forced to move things over because BB wouldn't let me take my old phone home to do it on my own time so I had to do it right there in the store in front of them. Annoying, but seems ok so far

I always set my toys as new.

I don't mind spending hours or even days to CUSTOMIZE everything. That's if I install Nova.

Right now sticking with One UI.

I like to set up new.... It was a little painful but good way to clean up old apps I never use.

So thinking I need to rebuild and start new. Today my battery took a step backwards. I am at 32% right now...what the heck is all this Wi-Fi battery use?
