Restore settings after Froyo update

So after I erase all my data, and install a new FROYO ROM, how do I restore all my settings, apps, etc to the new ROM?
I made a backup from clockworkmod, but that seems to be just for a complete recovery of Stock Rom.

only way to restore the apps is using titanium bbackup.

your settings should be easy to do by yourself.

so titanium does not save your settings?

yes.
You just reinstall it and then hit batch and hit. Restore.
I just have a copy of it on my sd card for easy installation and restoration when I wipe

For the most part, when I restored all system settings, it'd restore some. But then I'd ed up going through my settinggs to make sure it was how I want it.
Also restoring settings can mess up your phone - by causing force closes. If your going to restore your settings, and u have a nandroid of the last rom u liked, then I'd just go into clockwork>backup and restore>advanced restore>restore data.
But in the end I still just do it myself to avoid having to redo a wipe and end up doing it myself either way

Not from a nandroid:

Step-By-Step:
1. Do Nandroid Backup
2. Wipe Data, cache, dalvik cache (under advanced)
3. Flash new ROM
4. backup/restore-- advanced choose data and cache
5. Reboot.

i actually did give him a step by step to restore his data from a nandroid backup.

you gave him a step by step on how to make a backup then flash a rom and then restore data. totally different haha

If you restore 2.1 data on a 2.1 rom, you will get force crashes. You should never restore data between different versions

Good point. That's why I always only reinstall apps without data and restore data from a couple apps
