so im ready to put my first rom on my X. ive decided to go with Apex. i know that data and cache have to be cleared for this rom. so, after the rom is installed, what can i restore, if anything from stock using titanium? apps? settings? any data? obviously the contacts is no big deal, but what is the recomended procedure for restoring? or do i ahve to start clean and install all my apps again one by one?

thanks!

Apps will restore from the market automatically. Sysc your contacts before you flash so they are up to date. If using a launcher like lp or adw backup in settings the launcher settings and screen layouts.

My apps have never synced from the market but then again I have pretty much all syncing turned off.

Go into titanium backup, click batch, then click back up all aps + data. This way you can have them incase the above methods dont work.

Also if you make sure you have a nandroid of your stock rooted phone. That way if you do miss something you can go back to that save, save the specific app in tibu, and restore it individually.

You dontnedd to back up with both there both clockworkmod. You would essentiall just make 2 exact copies. Back up everything with titanium(all apps and data). Then bootstrap recovery. When thats successful go to rom manager and install rom from sd card. Find the .zip file and click it. It will say clear cache and an option to back up existing rom. Check both and go for the whole shibang at once. You can even name the back up stoc so you know later.

I use MyBackup because out allows me to backup all apps and then just check the apps I want to restore and away we go... It also does the same with sms, mms, bookmarks and play list.

Check out trial from market... I think it gives you 24 trial, I bought it so I can't remember how long but long enough trio backup and restore.

It works as well as Titanium does for me because when you are rooted it activates features you cant use when you are not rooted...
