Okay.

So I have a bit of a conundrum. I want to do a Factory reset because I've recently updated to Oreo.
My question is. If I've just done a backup of my S8 to my PC via SmartSwitch, and I Factory Reset and restore from the Backup. Will my Google Authenticator work as before. Without having to enter backup codes etc.

Please. I'm not looking for "it should", I'm looking for someone who has been in the same situation, done what I explained above and it worked or didn't work.

Thanks

I have done it (backup phone with Smart Switch, reset phone, accepted restore from the cloud, waited for this process to complete and restored again with Smart Switch) and Authenticator will not work as before. You have to redo the whole setup again...

I also had it on my android wear watch (the one connected to the phone I had wiped out) and it was not launching on the watch.

I wasn't expecting this but thinking about it, this is what should happen. When you set up the authenticator with a provider you are storing a private key, it would be bad to be able to move this key on another device...
