Restoring old phones Kies backup to new phone but new phone won't connect

I had an S3 mini and backed it up to Kies version 2.6. Got an upgrade to an S3 and thought I could move my details to the new phone with Kies but the new phone will only connect to Kies 3.0. The sim card is a different size between the two phones so can't move info that way. So how do I get contacts, music, pictures and videos from old phone to new phone?

Contacts - if they're Google contacts, they'll sync automatically if the new phone is on the same Google (not gmail) account as the old one.. If they aren't, see the Contacts section in Backing up an Android Device to convert them. You can see what contacts will sync at Google Contacts.

Pictures, music and videos - copy from the old phone to the computer, plug in the new phone and copy from the computer to the new phone.
