Retail Price and Switching 4g LTE phones.

I have tried to look for some concrete details concerning the retail price for the Bionic. I originally wanted the Bionic but had to settle for the TB to get grandfathered in, which used up my upgrade. Anyone know of the price?

And also, I am guessing when and if I get the Bionic I would get a new 4g SIM card? Right? Or switch to a new one?

Anyways sorry if this has been gone over or anything it has been a long time since I have been on the forums.

I'm actually wondering the same thing. I'm wondering if the Bionic will be using a micro SIM card because I heard Verizon's future devices were supposed to use them. Hopefully we won't have to pay for another SIM card.

I suppose they should be using the same LTE SIM cards, but they may give you a new one if you want it.
The phone will cost somewhere between $200-300 on contract, off contract probably into $600-700. Of course I don't really know, but going off of what other phones are priced at, it's a good guess.
You didn't have to buy a new phone to get grandfathered if I'm not mistaken. You just needed to change your plan.

I'm in the same boat as you. From the picture I saw last night of the inside of the phone it looked like a normal sim card so I'm guessing you can just swap out the one from the Thunderbolt.

Verizon's current 4g phones retail around $569.00 so I'm hoping the Bionic will be around the same.

The bionic will probably be around there maybe $599 but I don't think it will be more than that atleast not at verizon, bestbuy usually jacks up full retail about 100 more than verizon.

Yea I have never bought a phone off-contract and am somewhat hesitant to do so. Hopefully I can get a discount on it from my work and then sell the TB to shore up the huge price.

I would hope that the Bionic would come with a new SIM card. Although I suspect that you could use the one in the TB. But you'll need one to sell with the TB, right?

No if you sell the TB the buyer can go into verizon and get a new sim. Pretty sure the SIM will only work with your account maybe I'm wrong but that's what I was told.

Ah, okay. Thanks. This whole SIM card thing is new to us Verizon customers.

You are correct, Verizon Sim cards are one time (number) use only, at least for the 4g Sim cards. We ran into that when my company bought some of the Pantech air cards from them and wanted to switch numbers on them. You have to have a new Sim card to do so. This wasn't the case with their other Sim cards.

If the Bionic uses the same size 4GLTE SIM card as the TB all you have to do is put the one from you TB to the Bionic and the phone will fire right up. I had the TB, tried a Charge and you can switch at will. No *228 nonsense. If Verizon gives you a new SIM it will be tied to your ESN so if you sell your phone, the buyer will have to get a new SIM card from Verizon.

As the previous poster stated, they are one time use only so if you go from a TB to an Incredible 2 for instance, your SIM card is dead and you will need a new one to activate your TB.
