Well if my guess was correct and you were still at Eclair you would have ended up in boot loop city if it had installed. I saw you just posted in Braydon's thread so I will follow that. I would still like to find out what your info says under about phone if you ever come back and read this.
So what is everyone's general concensus on which kernel to go with right now?
Although I am intrigued by the super undervolted kernels over on xda, I think I am going to continue to run Adry's kernel update from the OP in this thread...

I just did the VooDoo install (trying to update the kernel)
However, I have been able to reboot inot my phone even after the hang during the 2.9.2 install...
I am guinea pigging one phone before I go into the next one. Though both phones are rooted and CWM'd

If anyone wants to continue discussion on which kernels are best can we move the discussion to this thread HERE? I know Adrynalyne put out a kernel of his own, but I would prefer not to clog up his thread with discussion that is not strictly about the superclean ROM. Thanks everyone.

Giles, I REALLY need you to hit the soft menu button, go settings=>about phone, and tell me what it says under all of the following:
firmware version
baseband version
kernel version
build number
I think you are still on Eclair EA28 and just flashed a mismatched kernel over it.
Can someone sum this up right now because i dont have alot of time , but skimming, did i see that giles is using a vibrant?
On the one phone I am sure i did. LOL..
It boots, I hear that Verizon ditty and it shows samsung still. I am looking fo a different kernel to reflash while I sort out these other issues. Glad I don't need to use the phone just yet....Still have my old t-Mobile sims in an Old iPhone.
The phones were matched, and I am still on EA28
Here is the other phone which is was identical till I popped in that new kernel....

No, not using a vibrant. Switched from Vibrant to Fascinates for he and his wife cause he couldn't stand AT&T. Used Braydon's MAC methods but is still at kernel version 2.6.29, so I think he is still on Eclair and he flashed the EC10 voodoo kernel through CWM.

Yeah, something didn't go right with Braydon's method and you are still on Eclair 2.1, not Froyo 2.2.
ok so the problem is that he flashed EC10 but is seeing 2.6.29, is there any other problems?

Yeah, says he followed Braydon's method for going from Eclair to Froyo but is still showing Eclair across the board

Flashed EC10 kernel and now is trying to flash sc 2.9.2 but install is hanging at installing update.
Got a buddies Laptop (PC) so I am going to Odin the
EB16SC29_DXC.tar ROM and see what gives....

I am not certain what kernel was in the OSX install pkg (2.6.29?) but I just flashed the 327 voodoo kernel just for giggles to see if I could flash the ROM...

He's trying to flash 2.9.2 voodoo. We can forget whatever he said about flashing an updated kernel because he's still at 2.6.29
