[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

I'm still on 2.8. The first day I had it my cell standby was great. It was only 6% over a 48 hour period. ( yes my barrette lasts two days. :) ). However after powering off and fully charging, my cell standby won't go below 55%. Any advice on this?

oh hai SC 2.9.

And in response to:
FOR THOSE WITH TIME LAG ISSUES:

Some testing has been performed in IRC, and beautiful Widgets may be the culprit. If you have it, uninstall it and see how things go.

I use Beautiful Widgets and have had no clock lag with SC 2.6,2.7,2.8 and voodoo. Maybe I've just been lucky

I use Beautiful Widgets and have experienced this time lag. It appears for me when I am updating or installing a new widget and the Home Widget time will lock... if I refresh it corrects the issue and does not recur until I start messing with widgets again...

Okay here comes 2.9..

Help me please?

my problem is i have installed superclean rom v2.6 and got it from another thread as a .md5 file that i installed through odin, no problem. i was trying to install a blackhole custom rom from rom managea and my recovery image was flahed with version 3.0.0.6 which is said to be unstable and unable to flash roms. i just wanted to ask you how to flash the new update 2.9 eb01 that was just released. i cant flash any roms from rom manage and try to flash an legacy recovery and it gives me a error every time " an error occured while downloading your recovery" I have been at work on this for a few days so if you can shed some light on this it would be great.

Is this the patch I need to install to get back the samsung widget that has the task ender? Samsung MMS (stock, eb01)

I am using the 2.8 voodoo version and my wife is on the 2.8 non-voodoo version. BW has been flawless. Both phones are working so well, no problems with any of the mentioned fixes for 2.9. The only problem I have witnessed is big battery draw when WiFi is turned on and not connected. GPS is on as well and not being used or drawing battery down unless an app needs to use it. Not sure I really want to flash this new version.

So if I was coming from ea28 and 2.1 to SuperClean by Droidxcon do I need to do a davlik wipe first? If so how do I do that?

Everyone please, please, please post questions relating to DroidXcon's ODIN packages in that thread http://forum.androidcentral.com/ver...ged-roms-w-root-clockwork-updated-3-04-a.html not this one.

That being said, if you are coming from EA28 (OS 2.1) to the latest superclean version using one of DroidXcon's ODIN packages you need to wipe not only dalvik cache, but also cache partition, and data. Read carefully the instructions in DroidXcon's thread and use one of the packages that does not have a small x before the underscore which will take care of wiping all of that for you. Example: EB16SC28_DXC.tar is what you need to use not EB16SC28x_DXC.tar.

you sure about that? Go into spare parts and see what % running is under other usage.

First off, do not flash ROMs through rom manager, it will install the latest clockworkmod recovery, version 3.0 which is orange and does not work with anything for the time being. If you used one of DroidXcon's all-in-one ODIN packages and still have update.zip on your sd card, you will need to delete it as it has been replaced by rom manager with the one for orange cwm. Download this cwm to your pc and flash it through ODIN MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service. You will now have a working cwm you can use to flash the new 2.9 update. If you don't know how to flash things in cwm, just save the zip file to your sd card the same way you saved update.zip to your sd card when you used DroidXcon's method, then follow the instructions in the link in my signature. Or if you prefer to use DroidXcon's method again you will have to wait until later when he releases a new package. But you will still need to delete your current update.zip regardless and if you use DroidXcon's method you will have to start at step 1 and download that update.zip to your sd card. And just to reiterate, for now, do not try to flash anything through rom manager. Keep reading these forums to find out if and when it is safe to once again use rom manager.

I check both phones before pluging in to see if the GPS is being used and it does not show up unless an app calls for it.

I am checking in Spare Parts, change the top drop down box to GPS usage, and second drop down box to Since last plugged in. It only shows it being used if an app calls for it. Also under Other usage, GPS never shows up. Is there somewhere else I should look for it?

Wonderoing

how do i go about flashing the 2.9.zip if i cant do it through rom manager cause it not compatible?

And after I just got 2.8 running decently a new one is out, and I'm not one to be able to pass up something to flash my phone with. Thanks Ad

Adrynalyne I want to say for the umpteenth time (and no I wont' stop saying this) thanks for everything you do and continue to do. All your hard work and the hard work of the other devs with whom you work makes our Fascinates the best possible phone they can be. My phone has gotten substantially better and faster with each and every version of superclean you put out, and I can tell from the changelog I am going to love 2.9. Thank you. More beer coming your way.

Swype lag on SC 2.8

I have been using the SC series pretty much since the day JT started making them, and have had pretty good luck so far. After updating to SC 2.8, i have noticed a really weird lag show up in swype that makes it basically unusable in certain circumstances.

If i go directly into SMS from the lock screen (via epic unlock) and try to type a reply, the 'word line' is delayed and broken up. Like if i put my finger down on C and move up, it wont start drawing the line until i am a few letters off C. If i try to go slow, it still does it. It will then plod out letters almost at random as i move my finger around instead of waiting for me to lift it to guess a word.

Here is the weird part: If I hit the back button til im at the home screen, or just happen to open sms from the home screen, swype will work fine. Its like the keyboard is in some sort of trance if SMS is started from the lock screen. It wont even work for a word like "no". If i hit the back button til i get to the home screen, and then open SMS again, it immediately works great.

Any guesses on why this is? I have been on 2.8 for a while and have just sort of put up with it. It may have been going on in 2.7.1 (i ran that for all of a day and a half) so maybe it was in earlier versions.

Under Other usage, you should see "Running". Generally that is at 100% when gps is enabled even if an app isn't actively using it. Disabling standalone gps causes that number to drop significantly and improves battery life.

And yay for the Stay Awake option being back under Development.

Thanks for the quick repy
