Retreive old phone backup

[AC Question]

I had a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge and had to upgrade to the s7. So i quickly went onto my phone and clicked the backup option that does contacts etc and messages.
So they wouldn't let me do the transfer from my old to my new phone. So how can i recover ask my sms messages? As some were very important and the staff said that would work. But no.

Help please?

Hi

Download Smart Switch (in play store) on both phones. You can transfer everything just about, including, call history, text with images, wall paper,etc.

S7 has smart switch pre-loaded in device. But he needs to get it for the S6. It's the way to go

I upgraded at the local store where they took my old phone away and gave me the new one. So i have no way of copying from one to the other.
I did do a backup on my s6 before they wiped it and i thought that saved it all to my Samsung account so i could log into it and retrieve it when i got the new phone.

Hi Angela

If you, "quickly" went to the back up options, then did the reset, I do believe it takes some time for this to sync to google servers. My guess, is that your back up, didn't make it. I could be wrong. But if the option to restore didn't become available on setup, then its probable that it didn't make it.
